The company has been present in the CEE region for over 20 years, operating primarily in Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Russia. White Star has completed over 50 projects including many landmark office, retail, warehouse and residential projects, and with a team of 300 people currently manages over 3 million square meters of property. As our company expands, we seek to add talented, forward-thinking members to our team.

As a result of our growth we are seeking to add an Information Technology professional to our management team. This IT rolde will have a dynamic range of duties, and driving forward a recently upgraded IT system in a modern, progressive work environment.

This position offers an opportunity to be the key IT professional member of the White Star team tasked with driving IT excellence for the company. They will lead the active creation, advancement and implementation of the company’s technology strategy and manage the company’s IT needs. The primary objective of this role will be to operate White Star’s IT department as a service to the whole team, with a customer oriented approach, aimed toward improving the IT capabilities of everyone at White Star.

You will be responsible for:
  • Lead the future steps of developing our IT infrastructure following our upgrade to Office 365
  • Manage the development, operation, and support of the company’s IT systems. This will include O365, other cloud-based solutions, servers, PCs, software apps, telephones and equipment.
  • Run the training program for system administrators and end user users to ensure they are using the software effectively. Motivate the users to utilize clever functions in our software that make their work more efficient.
  • Meet regularly with executive and senior management as well as systems users to obtain a strong understanding of the business’s needs, and set IT goals for the future
  • Work with colleagues to identify and deploy IT based improvements to internal services that increase user effectiveness and encourage innovation.
  • Provide expert advice and manage the process of upgrading, installing and maintaining systems, equipment, and software.
  • Manage IT staff and consultants, with responsibility for hiring, evaluating, and training.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, policies and best practices, ensuring written procedures and guidelines are prepared and provided to the IT staff and all end-users.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the most recent technologies and advising on what new technological solutions and their implementation will meet business and systems requirements.
  • Negotiate with suppliers of hardware and software to secure the best value, and be responsible for contracting consultants and making service agreements.
  • Propose budgets for the annual IT needs and one-off IT projects, with regular review and reporting of the actual against the budget.
  • Identify security vulnerabilities and solutions to eliminate them to increase data security.
The ideal candidate should have:
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Proven experience as an IT manager or similar role
  • Able to quickly analyze a problem and provide an effective solution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dedicated to customer service and be able to lead a team of individuals by example.
  • Sound understanding of IT systems (hardware/software), networks etc. and knowledge of current trends in information technology
  • BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field;
  • Ability to make presentations and train colleagues
  • English language
