Since White Star Real Estate’s founding, sustainability has been one of the core values guiding us in our business. Our team strives to conduct business in an environmentally friendly manner, to be a good corporate citizen, and to create a place where our employees and clients grow and succeed.
In reinforcing our commitment in this area, WSRE is implementing an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Policy to set objectives for further sustainable development, protection of the environment, corporate governance,, and commitment to our employees and the communities we work in.
Environment
From its beginning, WSRE has been committed to being environmentally responsible while striving for continuous improvement.
WSRE creates sustainable developments by incorporating innovative solutions:
First BREEAM Europe 2009 final certificate WSRE obtained in 2013 for The Park Warsaw – Building 1 with Excellent rating.
First BREEAM Europe 2009 final certificate for warehouse development was received for Diamond Business Park Ursus – Warehouse M1 in 2014.
Since then, WSRE obtained numerous BREEAM certifications for office, retail and warehouse buildings. Currently, over 80% of the WSRE building portfolio is BREEAM or LEED certified.
All projects under development and future projects of the company will be certified with internationally recognized environmental certification, providing clients with projects of the highest standard, and minimizing the impact on the environment.
SOCIAL
Katalyst Education is a non-profit social initiative incubator that supports the use of digital resources among Polish K–12 students. The Foundation created and operates Pi-stacja – an online channel with short video tutorials – and Career Map – Poland’s #1 free comprehensive set of effective career guidance tools. Katalyst Education is a public benefit organization (OPP).
OpenStax Poland is an affiliate of OpenStax, a Rice owned non-profit organization which provides free on-line textbooks and is creating products to revolutionize education. The foundation has already published four volumes covering Physics and Psychology, totaling 3.7K+ pages and 4.5K+ exercises. The goal is to create a complete library of free high-quality peer-reviewed online academic textbooks in Polish.
Katalyst Engineering developed and operates “Gotta Get Engineering” program that teaches engineering concepts to students in Polish primary schools using an innovative, interactive curriculum and industrial engineering tools (3D printers) during regular classes. The goal is to increase interest in STEM subjects and careers by demonstrating the joy of engineering through hands-on design and experiments.
Friends of Children’s Hospitals in Warsaw Foundation has raised over 25M PLN since 1993 to modernize pediatric wards and buy revolutionary state-of-the-art equipment.
“I MY” Foundation is a non-profit organization from Soběslav, in the Czech Republic, which cares for mentally and physically disabled children and their families.
