White Star Real Estate has a unique combination of local expertise and internationally trained regional managers. Our teams ensure consistent and quality care across all properties and we work with owners and investors in all major Central and Eastern European markets.
Our offices are located in our Elektrownia Powiśle development (Zajęcza 2B), in the heart of Warsaw. Operating since 1997, our team has completed 468,000 m2 of developments, and have 46,000 m2 under construction as of 2018. Our property management team in Poland is overseeing the operations of over 1.2 million m2, with 600 leases, in 62 buildings, within 42 properties.
Czech Republic & Slovakia
Our Prague office is located in The Park, the first of our campus style office park developments. White Star has been in the Czech Republic since 1997 and in Slovakia since 1999, where our team has developed over 300,000 m2 of class A office, industrial and retail projects, with an additional 30,000 m2 under construction in 2018. Currently the Czech office is managing over 260,000 m2, with 170 tenants, in 20 buildings within 14 properties.
Our Budapest office is located in our IP West development in South Buda. We have been present in Hungary since 1998, and in that time we have developed 300,000 m2 of class A office, industrial and retail properties. The Hungarian office currently manages over 500,000 m2, with 300 tenants, in 35 buildings within 24 properties.
We are present in Romania since 2006, and our office is located in the new business district in northern Bucharest. Our team developed Lakeview, a 25,000 m2 class A office building. Currently our team manages over 180,000 m2 of office and logistic properties, with 50 tenants.
We operate out of our Moscow office where we have developed over 140,000 m2 of class A office properties. Our Russian office has extensive office and industrial management experience.

We believe in quality through the entire value creation process – quality of design, quality of specifications, quality of leasing income and quality of management and customer service. While there may be meaningful additional cost, quality can maximize value for investors who agree with this philosophy and quality protects the downside in suboptimal markets.
Brian helped found White Star Real Estate in 1997, later serving as Managing Partner of White Star Real Estate Russia, White Star Real Estate Polska, and White Star Real Estate Europe. Brian came to Poland from his native United States in 1992. Prior to helping found White Star Real Estate, he led the development of two of Poland’s first modern commercial projects following its transition to a free-market economy — the Warsaw Distribution Center and the Diamond Business Park.
During this time, Brian’s entrepreneurial activities reached beyond the development field: he co-founded Archive Management Solutions with business partner Tom Keller, which was later sold to the world leader of the records management industry, Iron Mountain. To this day, Brian and Tom are still partners with Iron Mountain in Russia, Ukraine, and Denmark.
Since White Star Real Estate’s founding, Brian has helped the company amass a diverse development portfolio of over 50 properties and 2.5 million m2, and a property management portfolio exceeding 60 properties and 1.6 million m2. In recognition of his contribution to the real estate development field, Brian was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2013 Central & Eastern European Quality Awards in Warsaw, Poland. Brian is a graduate of Stanford Business School in California (USA).
Chief Executive Officer
We specialize in all phases of property development, asset management, leasing and property management, which allows us to continue to deliver outstanding results to our industry partners.
Peter joined White Star Real Estate (“WSRE”) as Chief Executive in 2015 on the management buy-out of the business from AIG/Lincoln, having been based in London since 1989, working for a number of publically listed companies, including at CEO and Board levels.
Previous to joining WSRE, Peter was a member of the Executive management team at Acelity, a $2bn revenue healthcare company. As President, Emerging Markets, his responsibilities covered the Asian, Middle East, African and Central and South American markets. From 2008 to 2012, he was CEO of Corin Group plc, a London Stock Exchange listed Orthopedic Implants company. Peter previously spent nine years as a member of the Executive Committee of Smith & Nephew plc, a London listed healthcare company, with responsibility for Global Strategy and M&A and latterly International Sales. Prior to that, he was Business Development Director and a Board Member of Matthew Clark plc, a London listed Alcoholic Drinks company, building sales from $40m to $1bn through an acquisition program.
Peter previously worked with Brian Patterson in operating the Iron Mountain EES business in Russia, Ukraine and Denmark from 2013 to 2014, including leading the successful disposal of the business.
Peter graduated from Stanford Business School in 1989, as an Arjay Miller scholar (top 10% of class). He previously qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985.
Partner, Asset and Property Management Director

Steve has been with White Star Real Estate since 1999 and has over 2 decades of professional experience in the fields of real estate, finance, accounting, and information systems. Throughout his career with White Star Real Estate he has played a key role in managing the process of concluding major real estate transactions (sales and purchases), and driving the continued growth and development of the company’s property management activities.
Prior to joining White Star Real Estate in 1999, he worked for over six years in the public accounting sector with experience ranging from audit, due diligence, and tax advisory services, to implementation of accounting IT systems.
Steve holds a BA degree from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, plus an MBA degree from the University of Pittsburgh (USA).
Partner, Development and Construction Director
Our experience in the construction management of tenant fit-out works and the seamless integration of this service with our property management service has proven to be of huge value to our clients.
Neil has more than 25 years of experience in the real estate and construction industries and has frequently led projects simultaneously in multiple countries. Having lived and worked in seven different countries, and managed projects in places as far reaching as Moscow, Mumbai, Bucharest, Odessa, Warsaw, Berlin, and Bangalore, Neil has the experience to navigate diverse cultures and management approaches.
He has directly managed or been involved with the development of more than 80 major development projects and hundreds of small-phase projects, helping him develop an unsurpassed expertise in contract negotiation, value engineering, and budget and quality control.
In addition to his nearly 15 years with White Star Real Estate, Neil has worked in several renowned firms, including Goldman Sachs. Neil holds a BSc in Quantity Surveying from Napier University Edinburgh (UK) and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Managing Director Romania
My focus is the quality of our services and the goal of always doing more than is expected, which can only be achieved by acting with due care, competence, professional behavior, transparency, and effectiveness.
Emilian manages the corporate-level activities for White Star Real Estate Romania, which includes finance and accounting, administrative, controlling, tax and legal compliance, and business operation activities. Prior to joining White Star Real Estate in 2008, Emilian worked for 15 years in the financial, reporting, and consulting sectors.
He held positions with international companies such as Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, JTI, and OMV. He is familiar with the construction, tobacco, oil exploration, processing and distribution industries. Emilian has developed significant exposure to the international business community through his membership in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK).
Emilian’s educational credentials include a BA and an MSc in Finance and Accounting from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.
Managing Director, Hungary

János has been participating in White Star Real Estate’s activity since 1999. Initially, János contributed to the success of the company as a Financial Director by managing accountant and service provider activities and actively participating in sales procedures and negotiations. Additionally, as Development Director János was responsible for one of the most important ongoing office projects in Budapest (IP West) and two logistic parks (M1 Business Park and Airport Business Park).
Prior to joining White Star Real Estate, János acted as Financial Controller for a private manufacturing company. János is a graduate of the College of Finance and Accounting in Budapest and of Heriot-Watt University and College of Finance and Accounting. János speaks fluent English and conversational Italian.

Bartosz has been working in real estate development across Eastern Europe and in Russia since 1998, when he joined AIG/Lincoln Polska and ran the logistics division. He has also been involved in the office and retail development of AIG/Lincoln's Polish projects. Subsequently, Bartosz moved to Russia, where he served as a country partner and co-head of Russian operations responsible for the company’s development, leasing and asset management efforts.
AIG/Lincoln completed two landmark office projects in downtown Moscow totaling c. 140,000 sqm of office and 10,000 sqm of retail space. Mr. Szewczyk obtained an M.S. in Economic from the Warsaw School of Economics University in 1996.
